Update on Chemical Leak at NA Industries

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Three Chattanooga firefighters were treated and released from the hospital Wednesday afternoon after a chemical fire at NA Industries on Dayton Boulevard.

A ruptured pipeline caused the fire.

The chemical plant evacuated 27 employees while 4 workers remained inside of a safe room to manage plant operations.

Tactical Services Chief Danny Hague says, "We will continue to investigate working with the plant to determine what the cause of the fire was, if there was any chemical that may have been released and if there was how much was released and then at that point turn the facility back over to the company and allow them to make any kind of repairs that are necessary to be made."

No employees were injured.

One firefighter went to the hospital for exposure; the other two as a precaution.
