UPDATE: SWAT Standoff on 32nd Street

UPDATE: The Chattanooga Police Department say the suspect was taken into custody without incident. 

Officials charged 31-year-old Aurello Ramsey with multiple drug related charges, including: Theft of Property, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Possession of a Firearm with the Intent to go armed, Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a Felony as well as multiple outstanding warrants.

UPDATE: Chattanooga Police say the SWAT Standoff started as a verbal disorder Friday night.

Officers found the complainant had located his previously stolen vehicle and had followed the suspect to East 32nd Street.

After a confrontation, police say the suspect barricaded himself inside the residence before police arrived and refused to surrender.

They later learned the suspect possibly had a firearm and a lengthy and violent criminal history.

Officials say the SWAT and Hostage Negotiation Teams were called.

They’re working to end the situation peacefully.
