Dan Earl, Head Coach
On the season and the team’s efforts.
“It’s hard, you know, but that’s sport for you, right? The highs and lows. Last night, we felt like we did enough to win and played well. You have injuries like Frank Champion and you feel for him because you know as much as anybody, it hurts him not be out there giving it his all. Again, those are the highs and lows, and this is obviously the low because we wanted to get the NCAA tournament. We were the number one seed. We played really well throughout the season, and then this is a tough spot.”
Bash Wieland, Gr.-G
Reflection on his year in Chattanooga and what this lone season has meant.
“It’s been such a blessing. And just the three guys to the left of me (Coach Earl, Bonham & Huff), we just didn’t get it done. It hurts a lot. On the bright side, we have more basketball to play, so I’m just going to try to soak it in and enjoy every single second of that. Coach Earl has been a fantastic coach. And like Honor said, just the 13, 14, 15 guys that I get to play with… It’s been amazing.”
