New Chattanooga Fire Chief

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke appointed Interim Fire Chief Chris Adams as the new Chief of the Chattanooga Fire Department.

This after an application process that began on April 1st.

"Chief Adams has faithfully served our citizens for decades and he is a natural choice to lead the Chattanooga Fire Department,” said Mayor Andy Berke. “I am pleased to make this appointment and I have full faith that Chief Adams will be exceptional in this position.”

Chief Adams has been with the CFD since 1990.

He served as Interim Chief after Chief Lamar Flint retired.

The city council is expected to vote on his appointment next Tuesday.

“I have spent the last 27 years working in the fire service, preparing for this position of leadership,” said Chief Adams. I am honored by Mayor Andy Berke’s appointment and I will do my absolute best to lead a great team to make this fire department the best it can be. “
