Dalton Has Best Employment News in the State

Dalton, GA (WDEF) – Dalton’s job outlook continues to improve according to the latest unemployment numbers.

In May, the city’s unemployment rate from a tenth of a percent to 6.6%.

They are the only Georgia area to see a drop this month.

The rate in May of last year was 8.1%

Officials cite a decline in layoffs in the area, plus job improvement in manufacturing, health care and retail.

The number of jobs increased by 500 in May.

The unemployment rate for the Northwest region of Georgia rose slightly by three tenths of a percent in May.
