Man arrested in Cherokee County for sexual assault of a minor

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Nc. (WDEF) —  A Cherokee County man has been arrested and charged with Sexual Assault of a Minor.

On January 30, 2024, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) received a report from a social worker about the suspected sexual assault of a victim who was 12-years-old.

CCSO stated they immediately launched an investigation, gathering interviews, executing a search warrant of the suspects residence, and seizing multiple electronic devices.

After further investigation, a grand jury indicted Steve Nolan on March 17, 2025.

He was later arrested on March 21, transported to the Cherokee county Detention Center, and given a bond of $125,000.

Nolan faces five counts of Incident Liberties with a child and one count of statutory sex offense.
