Chattanooga Mocs Welcomed Back at McKenzie Arena After Winning the NIT Tournament

Chattanooga-(WDEF-TV) Mocs guard Honor Huff was first off the team bus at McKenzie Arena Friday afternoon, carrying the NIT championship trophy. A crowd of fans welcomed the Mocs basketball team back to town after their thrilling 85-84 overtime win over UC Irvine in the NIT title game on Thursday night.  Chattanooga’s win over the Anteaters was their first ever D-One national crown.

Said guard Bash Wieland:”The fact that we were able to compete in that and win it all. It couldn’t have played our better for us. Honor was saying this was probably better than making a March Madness appearance, which I didn’t know how I felt at first. But I don’t know, it would have been hard to make that deep of a run in March Madness.”
