Nine in custody, fentanyl seized after Monroe County drug raids

MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) —   A series of narcotics raids led by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) resulted in the seizure of various drug paraphernalia, and related items.

The first search warrant was executed in the Gamble Gap area of Tellico Plains.

Detectives found approximately 4 grams of fentanyl poison, multiple firearms, and other drug-related items.

Later that day, authorities served a second search warrant in the Brakebill Road community of Vonore.

Authorities seized more than 20 grams of suspected fentanyl poison, additional narcotics-related materials, and cash currency.

According to MCSO, during the two incidents 9 individuals find themselves in custody at the Monroe County Justice Center for various drug charges.
