Authorities investigating officer involved shooting in Ider, AL

DEKALB COUNTY, Al. (WDEF) —  Authorities in DeKalb County are investigating an officer involved shooting.

On Sunday, May 4, 2025, DeKalb County deputies were dispatched to Highway 75 in Ider to assist in an officer involved shooting.

The Ider Police Department responded to a report of a shooting that had taken place.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), up on arrival, an officer involved shooting incident occurred with an armed male suspect.

The suspect was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

This investigation is ongoing.
