Second Ridgeland High School student arrested for making threatening social media post
UPDATE (6/2/2025): A second juvenile has been charged for making a threatening post towards Ridgeland High School on a social media platform.
The second 16-year-old has been charged with one count of Terroristic Threats or Acts Against a School.
The Walker County Sheriff’s Office says the Ridgeland High School student is charged with a felony and will be held in juvenile detention.
UPDATE (5/20/2025): A juvenile has been charged after making a threatening post on Snapchat toward Ridgeland High School.
Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson said the 16-year-old was a student at the school.
The post was made on May 17, 2025.
The juvenile is being charged with misdemeanor Terroristic Threats and being held at a juvenile detention center.
WALKER COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) – Ridgeland High School has notified families of a Snapchat account that is posting threatening messages and reported it to the Walker County Sheriff’s Office.
Every student report that was received has been reported to the authorities.
Walker County Sheriff’s Office is working to determine the identity and owner of the Snapchat account.
According to Principal James Morrison, RHS is maintaining security protocols and asks the community to monitor their students’ social media activity and to report any suspicious behavior.
