Man arrested after pursuit on Highway 58, drugs and stolen gun recovered
HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Deputies with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) were involved in a pursuit on Highway 58 early Wednesday morning.
On June 4, 2025, at 12:50 a.m., a deputy saw a silver Nissan Armada traveling northbound on Highway 58 at a high rate of speed.
According to HCSO, the deputy initiated a traffic stop, and the vehicle initially appeared to comply by slowing down.
However, the suspect then proceeded to speed away.
The suspect led deputies on roads throughout Highway 58 and the area of Harrison Bay.
During the pursuit, a small black box fell from the vehicle along with several white baggies being discarded from the passenger side window.
Eventually the suspect turned into a residence near the 6000 block of Harrison-Ooltewah Road.
The suspect, later identified as Robert Moore, drove behind the residence, striking a fence, and proceeded down a steep embankment.
The vehicle became disabled, and Moore continued to resist arrest.
Deputies were eventually able to take him into custody.
Upon further investigation, authorities found several baggies containing what appeared to be marijuana, along with suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Deputies also recovered the small black box near the 9400 block of Harrison Bay Road.
Inside, they located a stolen Glock handgun.
Moore was transported to the Hamilton County Jail and Detention Center.
