Victim identified in fatal Highway 58 crash
UPDATE (6/9/2025): The victim involved in the fatal crash on Highway 58 Friday has been identified.
41-year-old Kari Parsons died in a two-vehicle crash in the 4700 block of Highway 58.
The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) responded to the incident around 2:00 p.m.
CPD’s preliminary investigation shows Parsons was traveling south in a Kia Sorento in the 4700 block of Highway 58 when it crossed the centerline for unknown reasons, colliding head-on with a GMC 2500HD.
Parsons along with the driver and passenger of the GMC were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Parsons was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
According to CPD, The driver of the GMC were treated for minor injuries, while the passenger sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — One person is dead after a traffic accident on Highway 58.
The Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) confirmed the fatality to News 12 Friday afternoon.
CPD posted on X around 3:00 p.m. that the 4700 block of Highway 58 was closed while they were investigating the incident.
All lanes have since been reopened.
