GE Appliances Invests $60 Million in Georgia Plant, Adding Hundreds of Jobs

LaFayette, GA (WDEF)– Roper Corporation, Georgia’s largest manufacturer of cooking appliances, just got a major upgrade.

GE Appliances has invested an additional $60 million into the plant—bringing the total investment to $180 million. The expansion includes advanced automation, new technology, and workforce training aimed at increasing efficiency and safety.

The investment has already created more than 600 new jobs and tripled the number of robots used on the production floor.

“It’s a huge commitment to us and confidence in us that we can produce great products and continue to do that for the business,” said Scott Brown with GE Appliances. “It shows that the company believes in us, and we’re a good investment. It means a lot to the staff and everyone on the floor—it’s a small community, so long-term viability really matters.”

The upgrade is part of GE’s ongoing effort to strengthen U.S. manufacturing and support local economies.
