Scottsboro police arrest woman during traffic stop for drug possession

SCOTTSBORO, Al. (WDEF) —  Authorities arrested a woman in Scottsboro for drug possession.

On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 1:19 a.m. officers with the Scottsboro Police Department (SPD) conducted a traffic stop in the 2800 block of Veterans Drive.

During the stop, officers found two individuals inside the vehicle.

Those individuals were asked to step out of the vehicle for further investigation.

According to SPD, officers located 2.9 grams of synthetic marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

As a result of the findings, Kelsi Elizabeth Carter was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

She was taken to the Jackson County Jail and is being held on bond.
