Closed roads for Wyatt funeral

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Staff Sgt. David Allen Wyatt’s funeral is Friday at 1 p.m. at Hixson United Methodist Church and then the burial is afterwards at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Even though the church set up some additional seating, officials encourage everyone who is not closely related to the family to pay their respects by lining the procession route.

Officials expect the procession to begin around 2:45 Friday afternoon.

It will head down old Hisxon Pike to Austin Road.

It then continues on Hixson Pike to 153 South…

Then to Aminicola Highway to Wilcox Boulevard.

It will then proceed to Holtzclaw before making its way into the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The procession route is expected to last more than 30 minutes.

Also be aware of several roads that are closed.

Highway 153 South will be closed from 1 p.m. until the procession passes.

Traffic will also be stopped at pass points along the route.

Officials say the public should expect delays.

The National Cemetery also asks anyone who would like to view the service to catch the Carta shuttle from Engel Stadium.

It will begin shuttling people at 1 p.m.
