Scottsboro authorities uncover 101 grams of meth during traffic stop

SCOTTSBORO, Al. (WDEF) —  Three people have been arrested after authorities uncovered over 100 grams in methamphetamine during a traffic stop.

On July 5, 2025, officers with the Scottsboro Police Department (SPD) conducted a traffic stop in the 10700 block of Veterans Drive.

SPD said during the stop, officers located 101 grams of methamphetamine and various drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.

As a result, three people were arrested and charged with the following:

Lonnie Ray Walters Jr.

  • Drug Trafficking
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Obstructing Governmental Operations
  • Resisting Arrest

Mary Ann Mavoureen Kelley

  • Drug Trafficking
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Obstructing Governmental Operations

Kerry Dewaun Sartin

  • Drug Trafficking
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Obstructing Governmental Operations

All three were taken to the Scottsboro City Jail, and then later transported to the Jackson County Jail.
