From The Archives: Building Miller Plaza

Chattanooga (WDEF) – Before the Tennessee Riverpark, Coolidge Park or the pedestrian version of the Walnut Street bride, the only public space downtown was Miller Park.

That’s where the city staged public events, holiday decorations and music.

There wasn’t even Miller Plaza across the street yet.

In August, River City begins a visioning process to re-vamp the old downtown park.

So we thought it would be a good time to take you back 30 years for a look at Miller Park, and the plans to build the plaza.

The year is 1985.
