Sequatchie County teacher arrested after physically assaulting student

SEQUATCHIE COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) —  A Sequatchie County teacher has been arrested after physically assaulting a special needs student.

On August 19, 2025, deputies with the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) were made aware of a student who was assaulted at Griffith Elementary School.

The SCSO said upon further investigation, it was determined that teacher Holly Condra physically assaulted the student with her hand.

The student allegedly spit on Condra and was acting aggressive.

According to court documents, video footage of the class room showed Ms. Condra rear her hand back and slap the student in the face followed by taking her hand and squeeze his face.

No reports indicated the student required medical attention.

After conducting interviews with witnesses, authorities obtained a warrant charging Condra with Assault.

According to the SCSO, Condra met investigators at the Sequatchie County Justice Center on Wednesday, August 20, 2025.

Condra was booked on the charge of Assault and released under a $2,500 bond.
