Ole Miss Claims Title at the Invitational at the Honors With the Mocs Finishing 10th

The home team Chattanooga Mocs earned a top 10 finish in a field full of NCAA Tournament hopefuls as well as national title contenders, plural. It was a field worthy of amateur golf’s course, the splendid Honors Course in suburban Ooltewah, Tenn. Ole Miss claimed the team title by five strokes over Virginia with the Rebels’ Cameron Tankersley and Auburn’s Josiah Gilbert sharing medalist honors at 6 under.

- How good was the field? Three in this year’s tournament reached Match Play at the 2025 NCAA Championships in Virginia (runner-up at Omni La Costa Resort), Ole Miss (Final FORE) and Oklahoma. four more squads advanced through regionals to the finals with each falling just short of the top 8 into Match Play: Auburn, Pepperdine, Tennessee & Vanderbilt.
- The Honors held up against the nation’s best allowing just 12 under par finishers led by Tankersley and Gilbert.
- Sophomore Ward Harris led the Mocs with a level-par 72. He posted five birdies after starting out 3 over through four.
- Evan Rogers and Thad Whitfield both contributed 4-over cards to the team score with Camden Braidech’s 79 closing the ledger.
- Junior Dallas Burts played as an individual and almost matched Harris’ day. Burts also dropped five birdies shooting 73.
- Rogers was the low 3-day total for the good guys coming in at 222 (+6).
