Female remains found in Cherokee County

CHEROKEE COUNTY, N.C. (WDEF) — Investigators in Cherokee County responded to the Marble area for a possible fatality on Friday.

When officers arrived, they found remains of a deceased female.

She was identified and her family was notified.

Officers aren’t releasing her identity or what led to her death at this time.

Those with information are asked to contact the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation or Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
