Regional Health Council addresses community health and wellness
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Hamilton County Health Department hosted its monthly Regional Health Council meeting today.
Each month, community leaders gather to discuss local health and safety priorities that impact residents across the county.
This month’s agenda focused on violence prevention, results from the Picture of Our Health survey, and updates to the Community Health Improvement Plan, also known as CHIP.
CHIP outlines long-term strategies designed to close health gaps and strengthen local resources.
It serves as a roadmap for identifying key challenges and creating solutions that promote healthier communities.
Dr. Derek Anderson, Director of Community Health Services, explained that CHIP is where action begins.
“The CHIP itself is where we put our feet to the ground,” Dr. Anderson said. “Based on what came out of the results, we identify what needs to be done and where to start with implementation to address those problem areas.”
The council will continue reviewing data from the Picture of Our Health survey and developing plans that align with community needs and available resources.
