Monroe County inmate escapes during work detail

MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) received a report around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday morning that an inmate worker assigned to GlasMasters in Sweetwater, Tenn., had walked off the job site.

During an investigation by the Sweetwater Police Department and the MCSO, 28-year-old Cody Allen Patterson was discovered to have cut off his ankle monitor in the parking lot of GlasMasters, then driving off in a white 1998 Dodge Ram 3500 flatbed truck with a Tennessee tag ‘H321106’.

Patterson was serving a 3-year sentence for vandalism, parole violation, violation of probation, and burglary.

He had approximately eight and a half months remaining in his sentence.

Patterson is now wanted for felony escape and theft of a motor vehicle, and has been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC).

The MCSO is urging the public to assist them in locating Patterson.
