Man who shot at deputies wanted by police
DEKALB COUNTY, Ala. (WDEF) — Law enforcement in northeast Alabama is looking for a man who they say shot at their deputies yesterday.
An officer tried to stop Gary Jody Childers in the Powell area because he had an active warrant.
But the DeKalb County Sheriff says Childers fired out of his vehicles window at the officer and fled.
The manhunt continued overnight in the area.
On Thursday, they were looking for a 2011 Silver Volvo C70 Convertible in the Powell area.
But if you see him, do not confront the driver.
Just call the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
