Florida Man Fired After Destroying Pride Flag At Starbucks Seeks Travel Permission For Job Hunt
Tucker Kemp, 31, lost his decade-long job at Dignity Memorial funeral home after being arrested for destroying a Pride flag at a St. Petersburg, Florida Starbucks in late October. Police say Kemp told the store manager he was “offended by the flag and the fact that they should put up an American flag” before throwing tea on the display, ripping it down, and discarding it. He was charged with criminal mischief and caused approximately $210 in damages. After posting $500 bond, Kemp filed a handwritten court appeal requesting permission to travel outside his county for job interviews. “I made some poor decisions that led to my rightful arrest and termination from my career at the funeral home,” Kemp wrote. A judge approved his request to seek employment in other Florida counties. (Story URL)
