Holiday Home Dedication for Family

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga welcomed the holiday season by celebrating a new home dedication for Stephanie Tarvin and her family on Friday, November 14th.

The ceremony took place in a local neighborhood, where friends, volunteers, and community partners gathered to mark the completion of months of hard work.

Tarvin, a medical assistant and mother of four, spent the past several months completing Habitat’s sweat-equity hours and homeownership classes while helping build the home alongside volunteers.

The family broke ground earlier this spring and is now preparing to move into their new house just in time for the holidays.

Several community partners joined the celebration.

The YMCA teamed up with Habitat to give the Tarvin family a free yearlong YMCA membership, and local churches and volunteer groups presented additional gifts to welcome them home.

The home build was also supported by The Robert Finley Stone Foundation.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga has served the community since 1986, working toward a vision where everyone has a safe, decent place to live.

For the Tarvin family, that vision is now becoming a reality as they begin a new chapter in their brand-new home.
