Annual resurfacing to begin in Dalton
DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) — Annual milling and resurfacing work on streets in the City of Dalton will begin on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
This year’s resurfacing work involves 18 City streets and involves more than 5 miles of milling, resurfacing, and marking of City streets.
Work will take place primarily during daylight hours.
The streets included in this year’s project are:
- Sheridan Avenue
- May Street
- Stoneleigh Road
- Lester Avenue
- Valley Drive
- Brady Drive
- Dalton Industrial Court
- Byron Street, Saint Charles Street
- East Franklin Street
- Railroad Street
- Sassafras Street
- Avenue B
- Civic Drive
- Morningside Drive
- Mitchell Street
- Miller Street
- West Franklin Street
The work is scheduled to begin on Sheridan Avenue on Tuesday, November 18.
There will be temporary lane closures in work zones while the work is being performed.
Drivers should reduce their speed and exercise caution in these work zones.
On residential streets, homeowners should turn off yard sprinklers and avoid placing brush/rubbish in the street while work is taking place.
The resurfacing projects are scheduled to be completed by the end of spring 2026.
The contractor for the project is C.W. Matthews Contracting Co., Inc. of Marietta, GA.
