Deadly Signal Mountain confrontation being investigated by TBI
UPDATE: The Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that occurred on Monday, November 17, 2025.
The homicide occurred on Dandy Road, Signal Mountain, Tennessee.
According to witnesses, the victim, Michael Huckabee, was shot a killed on Dandy Road during an altercation with the suspect, Johnny Michael Queen.
Queen fled the scene before law enforcement arrived.
Subsequently, a two-hour man hunt took place to locate Queen.
Queen was eventually located on Big Fork Road in Marion County.
He was ultimately killed by law enforcement.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating this incident.
The two Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office deputies involved in the shooting have since been placed on paid administrative leave.
SIGNAL MOUNTAIN, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) will investigate a deadly confrontation on Signal Mountain on Monday night.
The Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office was called to investigate a homicide around 8:45 at a home on Dandy Road near the “Lone Oak” community.
Officials confirm someone was killed there, but will not release that information until later today.
After several other agencies got involved, they located the suspect… Johnny Michael Queen.. on Big Fork Road on the bluff overlooking the Sequatchie Valley.
During the negotiations, officers say he pointed a weapon at them and they fired.
Queen was killed by the gunfire.
TBI agents will investigate the circumstances and turn over their results to the District Attorney.
