Cleveland man recovering after shooting

CLEVELAND, TN (WDEF) – According to Cleveland Police, at approximately 9:15 pm Saturday, a shooting occurred at Forest Grove Apartments at 2350 Blackburn Road SE in Cleveland. 

According to multiple witness statements, the victim, identified as Michael Futrell, walked over to the vehicle of the suspect, Corey Mullinax, where the two began speaking.

The suspect then shot the victim in the torso. Mullinax and an unknown female sped away from the area northbound on Blackburn Road in a blue, Mercury Marquis.

The victim is in stable condition at Erlanger.     

A warrant for Aggravated Assault was filed for Corey Mullinax.
