Log truck accident leaves one with minor injuries

DUNLAP, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Dunlap Fire Department responded to a vehicle accident involving a log truck on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.

The accident occurred on Highway 111 going up Lewis Chapel Mountain at around 4 a.m. after a work van ran into the back of a semi trailer carrying a load of logs.

The logs came through the center and passenger side of the windshield, missing the driver and leaving them with only minor injuries.

The road was closed while Firefighters extracted the driver by using the Hurst eDRAULIC battery spreader to remove the drivers door.

The driver was transported to the ER by Puckett EMS.

Griswold’s towing cut the van away from the log trailer.
