I-75 wreck suspect Benjamin Brewer arrested by Kentucky authorities
Lexington, KY (WDEF) – Our sister station in Lexington, KY confirms the man accused of causing the deadly I-75 wreck in June was arrested Friday night in Lexington.
Lexington Police say they arrested 39-year-old Benjamin Brewer in Hamburg Friday night.
Earlier this week, the Hamilton County, Tennessee grand jury indicted Brewer on six counts of vehicular homicide.
In June, police say Brewer was driving under the influence when his tractor trailer crashed into multiple vehicles on Interstate 75 in Chattanooga.
Brewer is from Laurel County, Kentucky. Earlier Friday, Lexington Police said they received information from U.S. Marshals that Brewer could be in the Lexington area.
That afternoon they issued an "attempt to locate" Brewer.
