Post-Holiday Shoppers Hit the Mall in Search of Deals
Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Even though Christmas has passed, shoppers returned to the mall Monday, taking advantage of post-holiday sales and exploring bargains across stores.
From the moment the doors opened, walkways filled with people moving from store to store. Many retailers offered discounts on clothing, shoes, and accessories, giving shoppers more opportunities to browse after the holiday.
One shopper, Savannah, admitted she needs to “grow up a little bit,” but couldn’t resist spending. “My bank account is not so happy with me right now, but I love giving as well,” she said. “You know what—it makes people feel good.”
For some, the experience was relaxed. “It’s not been crazy busy, but it’s been good,” another shopper said. “Having fun together and seeing what deals are there—honestly, it’s just kind of chill.”
Not everyone had a smooth start. One shopper Natalie ran into parking challenges, with the lot so full that finding a spot was difficult. “The parking lot here at the mall has been insane. We almost parked in the very last spot. It’s very packed,” she said. “The lines differ, but it’s not terrible. The Hobby Lobby was crazy. Just trying to find different places to go that don’t have crazy lines, but the 50% off deals are so nice—shopping for myself, my mom, other people.”
Post-Christmas sales are expected to continue in the days ahead as shoppers take advantage of remaining discounts.
