East Ridge Police Make 2 Arrests in Deadly Waffle House Shooting

The East Ridge Waffle House where the homicide took place Sunday night.

EAST RIDGE, TN (WDEF) – East Ridge Police made two arrests in a deadly shooting at the Ringgold Road Waffle House.

37 year-old Toney Allen and 43 year-old Cyntoria Simmons are both charged with criminal homicide in the death of 26 year-old Mayco Gonzalez.

Gonzalez was shot multiple times Sunday (1/18/26) night.

Officers found him lying on floor of the restaurant.

He was rushed to Erlanger where he was pronounced dead.

Right before he was shot. witnesses say Gonzalez briefly spoke to a man a woman.

They left but came back moments later.

Witnesses say the male suspect opened fire on Gonzalez.

Police arrested both suspects Tuesday. (1/20/26)
