Illegal Man Charged in Forgery Operation in Fort Payne
FORT PAYNE, Ala. — An illegal man in the United States has been charged in a forgery operation out of Fort Payne, Alabama.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) shares that the DeKalb County Drugs and Makor Crimes Unit has been investigating reports of a forgery operation that was being conducted out of a residence on Mims Street in Fort Payne.
They say on Thursday, January 29th, Agents conducted a traffic stop in relation to this case at IDA in Fort Payne.
During the traffic stop, the main suspect in the forgery operation was identified as Javier Ferrer-Huerta, 58 of Veracruz, Mexico.
They say a search warrant was conducted at the subject’s residence on Mims Street on January 29.
During the search warrant, multiple false information documents, materials used for the production of false identification documents, three firearms, and a large amount of US currency was seized, according to DCSO.
Huerta was charged with Trafficking in Stolen Identities.
The Department of Homeland Security was notified due to him in the country illegally.
