Collinsville Police Chief Resigns Following Arrest Over Domestic Violence Case

The Police Chief in Collinsville, Alabama has resigned after his arrest over the weekend in a Nashville domestic violence case.

WHNT reports that Stephen Malone is accused of strangling the woman he was dating at 3 a.m. on Sunday.

A police report says the argument started over allegations of cheating.

The report says Malone punched her in the face multiple times, slammed her down and choked her.

Malone just became police chief in Collinsville last year.

He previously was the chief in Ider.
