One dead after two vehicle crash on Old Lee Hwy

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Friday, the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) responded to a two-vehicle crash that resulted in one fatality.

According to the CPD, around 8:30 p.m. officers responded to the 7600 block of Old Lee Hwy for a report of a multi-vehicle crash.

After the initial investigation, police say that the Nissan Altima was traveling north on Old Lee Hwy when the 83-year-old male driver crossed into the opposing lane and struck a Toyota Rav4 head on.

The 38-year-old male driver of the Toyota Rav4 was taken to the hospital by Hamilton County EMS for suspected non-life-threatening injuries.

The 83-year-old driver of the Nissan Altima was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
