Man wanted for theft from hotel on Walnut Avenue in Dalton

The Dalton Police Department (DPD) is seeking to identify the man they say stole a speaker from a Red Roof Inn on Walnut Avenue in Dalton.

They say the theft occurred on Thursday, March 5 and the speaker belonged to a visitor at the hotel.

The victim in the case told police he was at the hotel to visit a friend who works there.

They say while at the hotel, he put down his portable JBL Xtreme bluetooth speaker on top of an electrical control box in a stairwell and walked into the office.

DPD says when he came back outside of the office, he found that the speaker was missing.

After checking surveillance footage, a man was recorded walking into the stairwell empty handed and walking out with the speaker in his hands.

They say the suspect is a white male who wore dark pants, a green t-shirt, and a gold chain and had close cropped balding hair.

The DPD asks if you know who he is, to call Officer Cruz Aldava at 706-278-9085, extension 9-663 or email him at caldava@daltonga.gov.
