Heritage Wins State Championship With 65-63 Overtime Victory Over Sandy Creek
Macon, GA-(WDEF-TV) The Heritage girls basketball team rallied from a 10-point deficit in the second half to beat Sandy Creek 65-63 in overtime to win the Class 3A state title. The Generals took home the top prize in their first ever trip to the state title game. With under ten seconds left in regulation, Georgia Gracy hit a three-pointer to tie the game at 58 and force overtime. Then with the score tied at 63 in the OT period, Paisley Collins scored on a lay-up with 22 seconds left that proved to be the game-winner. Collins had 17 for the Generals, while teammate Ema Tanner had a team-high 18 points. Sandy Creek’s Morghan Reckley had a game high 29 points.
