Behind the Curtain: The Scuttlebutt Reef

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The Tennessee Aquarium has a brand new exhibit and News 12’s Amelia Greer goes ‘Behind the Curtain’ to discover if the underwater rumors are true!

The new Scuttlebutt Reef opened in early March and it showcases some unique creatures, like the Mantis Shrimp that can pack quite a punch in their little claws, or the Frog Fish that does its best to swim with their weird legs.

Are all coral plants? Two lead aquarist help Amelia debunk the myth, while sharing all the work that went into building this exhibit.

Fun fact, a lot of the coral you see in the new exhibit has been growing behind the scenes for years!

To see the Scuttlebutt Reef yourself, book your next visit to the river to the ocean on the Tennessee Aquarium website.
