36-year-old arrested on drug charges following traffic stop
SCOTTSBORO — A 36-year-old man has been arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in Scottsboro.
On March 20, 2026, officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Elm St and Sisk St. around 9:15 p.m., where the driver was then identified as Antonio Dasean Jones, according to the Scottsboro Police Department (SPD).
Officers observed a plastic bag containing a green substance in the driver’s door during the stop.
They say when questioned, the subject attempted to retrieve the bag and was detained without incident.
As officers continued their investigation, an additional bag containing a similar substance along with a set of digital scales were located, the SPD says.
According to the SPD, the substances recovered were field-tested and returned a positive result for synthetic marijuana (Spice).
Jones was arrested and charged with the following:
Possession of a Controlled Substance (Spice)
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Jones was transported to the Scottsboro City Jail, before being transferred to the Jackson County Jail for the felony charge.
