Teens charged with burglary after break-ins at local apartment complex
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Three teens have been charged following reports cars being broken into at an apartment complex, the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) says.
Officers responded to the report in the early morning hours of March 19, 2026.
While on the way to the call, an officer saw three teens matching the suspects’ descriptions walking down Riverside Drive.
Officers searched the juveniles and recovered thousands of dollars in cash, several cell phones, and other stolen property that victims reported missing from their vehicles, CPD says.
Two of the teens are charged with burglary of motor vehicle and theft and the third is charged with burglary of motor vehicle, theft, and possession of burglary tools, according to CPD.
All three were transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
The CPD reminds locals to remove valuables from unattended vehicles.
