What’s Right With Our Schools: Celebrating Dr. Ware at Howard

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF) – Dr. LeAndrea Ware’s time at Howard is coming to an end. She has accepted a leadership role with the Boys and Girls Club. Her contributions to Howard will have far reaching benefits. See for yourself in this week’s “What’s Right With Our Schools.”

She says, “I think we go back to bittersweet. And it’s going to be a bittersweet moment. I’m getting so many messages. We’re walking around here and it’s almost like we’re trying to pretend, that that day is not approaching, quickly approaching.

She adds, “We believe in believing in our kids. Because sometimes they don’t believe in themselves.  So, partnering up with our kids, building relationships, giving them the academic support and wraparound support that they need to help them, not only make it to that stage but across that stage, and be able to be productive citizens in life. We’re very proud of that.

When asked about her faculty and staff, Dr. Ware says, “I know they are running around, they are planning, they are working together. They’re trying to do some really special things to culminate our time together.”

She concludes, “Please know that Howard will always be home to me. As an alumni and lifelong Hustling Tiger, I will continue cheering for each of you, supporting you, and celebrating all that you will continue to accomplish. Howard is strong, Howard is rising, and the best is still yet to come.”
