TBI seizes records from local dermatologist

We’ll have to wait to see if federal and TBI agents file charges based on raids yesterday at a local Dermatologist.

They seized records at two Skin Cancer and Cosmetic Dermatology Centers in East Brainerd.

Agents also raided at least one other clinic in north Georgia operated by Dr. John Chung.

He has a total of ten clinics.

And he has a history of run-ins with federal regulators.

Dr. Chung agreed to pay a six million dollar settlement  to the government on charges of excessive billing for Medicare and Medicaid.

The Department of Justice accused his clinics of submitting false claims about procedures he had done.

Those allegations occurred between 2010 and 2020.

Part of the settlement included an agreement with federal officials that the clinics would remain in compliance with the law.
