IRS expands tax relief for all Tennessee taxpayers due to Winter Storm Fern; various deadlines postponed to June 8, 2026

The IRS has expanded tax relief for Tennessee a payers due to Winter Storm Fern. Various deadlines have now been extended for Tennessee taxpayers until June 8, 2026.

Reference a statement from the IRS:

“Effective today, the relief described below and attached has been expanded to taxpayers in ALL 95 counties in the state of Tennessee. Tennessee taxpayers now have until June 8, 2026, to file various federal individual and business tax returns and make tax payments.

Tennessee residents do not have to do anything else to receive this tax relief. The IRS automatically identifies taxpayers located in the covered disaster area (the entire State of Tennessee) and applies filing and payment relief.”
