Cleveland High student creates community through Best Buddies Club
CLEVELAND, Tenn. — A Cleveland High School student is bringing students together in a meaningful way.
The school’s Best Buddies Club, a student-led group focused on building friendships and creating a place where every student feels seen, valued, and included was envisioned by Emma Grace Cloutier to bring people together.
Cleveland City Schools says what began as a simple idea has quickly grown into something students look forward to each week.
The club brings together students from across campus, including those in the special education program, creating opportunities for relationships that may not have formed otherwise.
During club meetings, students gather to spend time together, share conversations, and enjoy each other’s company.
“This club is about connection. It has been really special to see friendships grow and to watch everyone feel included and supported.”
– Emma Grace said.
They say the club is simple by design, but the impact is powerful.
“You can feel the difference when they are together. There is so much joy in the room. It is meaningful for all of our students, and it is something they truly look forward to.”
– Special Education teacher Tressa Manning said.
