City of Athens Fire Department awarded grant to purchase tools to enhance responses

ATHENS — The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation® has recently awarded the City of Athens Fire Department a $39,313 grant to purchase a Hurst Spreader, Cutter, Ram, and accessories.

They say these new extrication tools will enhance their ability to respond to vehicle accidents and other rescue situations quickly and safely. They allow firefighters to cut, spread, and remove debris.
