EPB warns of scam
EPB says customers are reporting scam calls that appear to come from their main number, demanding immediate payment to avoid disconnection.
They say the scammers may direct you to Walmart to pay using a barcode they provide.
EPB asks if you receive a suspicious call—especially one requesting payment over the phone or account information—hang up immediately.
Three things to remember:
1. EPB does not require immediate payment over the phone to avoid immediate disconnection.
2. If you receive a suspicious call, hang up and call 423-648-1372 to be sure you’re really speaking with EPB.
3. EPB will not direct you to call a number other than 423-648-1372.
For questions about suspicious calls, emails, or popups, visit EPB.com to start a Live Chat or call us 24/7/365 at (423) 648-1372.
They say calling this number ensures you’re reaching EPB.
