36-year-old woman shot and one man charged after shooting

ATHENS, Tenn. (WDEF) — On Sunday, the Athens Police Department responded to a shooting at 108 Fisher Street.
According to police, a 36-year-old woman was shot in her upper body.
The victim was transported for medical treatment.
Her name is not being released at this time.
The suspect remained inside the residence and was believed to be armed.
After officers gave verbal commands, the suspect, 51-year-old Steven Wilkerson Jr., was taken into custody.
Wilkerson Jr. has been charged with:
- Attempted First-Degree Murder
- Felon in Possession of a Weapon
- Employment of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony
Bond has been set at $750,000.
