Pet of the Week: Emma
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Join us at Prime News at 7 to meet this week’s Pet of the Week: Emma!
Emma has been waiting at the shelter for just a few weeks now, and every single day we wonder how this sweet girl is still here.
At around 3 years old and 42 pounds, Emma is the definition of a lovable mixed-breed mutt — truly a little bit of everything rolled into one adorable package. Heinz 57 might honestly be the best breed description we’ve got for her, and somehow it fits her perfectly.
Emma’s story started in a way only she could manage: while living as a stray, she apparently fell head over heels for someone’s dog, broke into their property, and eventually surprised everyone with an impressive ELEVEN puppies. The family who found her cared enough to bring her and her babies to safety, but they weren’t able to keep them long term. Thankfully, all of Emma’s puppies have found homes of their own. Now it’s Emma’s turn.
She’s one of those dogs who quietly steals your heart without even trying. Emma has a lower energy level and is happiest doing the simple things in life — laying in the sunshine, going for gentle walks, cuddling beside her favorite people, or calmly hanging out with her doggy friends. She walks beautifully on a leash and has such a soft, gentle presence about her. She does will with other dogs, will likely do well with kids, and we truly believe Emma is going to be the perfect family dog for one very lucky home.
