Ringgold puts out annual flag display for Memorial Day
RINGGOLD, Ga. (WDEF)- Volunteers wanted to make sure Ringgold was ready for Memorial Day.
Over 2,100 flags have been planted across town.
Each flag is attached to a cross bearing the name of a Catoosa County native who served in the military.
The annual tradition has grown as families apply to have their veterans be honored.
Drew Sherrell with the city of Ringgold said, “It definitely means a lot to all of the people that are involved in getting their family member recognized and then getting their cross and their flags put up. It is a blessing for these people to come.”
The flags will be up through June 1.
The city of Ringgold will be sharing a locator in the coming days that will help those looking for a specific cross.
