Lightning Strike Burns Off Top of House

Soddy Daisy (WDEF) – A lightning strike Wednesday night apparently caused a house fire in the Soddy Daisy area.

When Sequoyah Volunteer firefighters arrived at the home on Hamby Road around 10 PM, they found the entire roofline in flames.

No one was at home at the time and no one was hurt.

50% of the home is a total loss.

Just the central block of the home is left.

The damage estimate is $60,000.
